When: Dates TBC

Sometimes (many times) things go wrong on stage. Our material doesn't land, something throws us off or this audience is just reacting differently tonight.
This workshop looks at these moments (the flop), when we're not funny and what to do next. We cover:
Recognising the flop
Acknowledging the flop
Saves - discovering and repeating comedic bits that help us come out of the flop on top
Through primarily improv, clown and physical theatre exercises we will play to discover individual moments of flops and how we can turn them into something funny for the audience.
You'll leave the workshop with a clearer idea of what to do when things go wrong, how to find your own saves going forwards and be more responsive to an ever changing audience.
This class is suitable for any experience level and complete beginners to clown and comedy are more than welcome.
There's a mixture of group and solo time in front of the class.
A stand-up? - get better at handling moments that don't land and build up a repertoire of saves
A clown/ alternative/ character comedian? - the flop is your friend, learn how to embrace it and make what you do next land even better
An improviser? - practice new types of impulses and moves to try when things aren't working as well
